Patti Fowler 

Patti Fowler currently specializes in artistic floral arrangements, horticultural installations and unique event décor.

Patti has over 25 years in the floral industry. Her journey began as a Horticulture student at West Virginia University, where she graduated with honors. Soon after, she joined the sales team at Pittsburgh Cut Flower Company in the strip district, providing floral products to retail shops in the Pittsburgh area. With enthusiasm, she moved to California in the late 1990’s to work on the grower end of the floral business. She not only sold flowers across the United States, but also had a crop of 4,500 peonies of her own.

Patti is the mother of two beautiful daughters, so she returned to Pittsburgh to raise her family. Buying a turnkey floral retail shop provided her the opportunity to be a mother and a professional. Patti is in her 11th year of owning Flowerama on Babcock Blvd. She has been invited to assist making International designers and has worked on million dollar events across the United States.

Her most recent accomplishment, has been her induction into the American Institute of Floral Designers; AIFD. Patti’s strong desire to share this acquired floral knowledge and experience has just fueled the demand for the continued growth of the floral industry. She speaks regularly for Garden Clubs in the Pittsburgh area, and has just started teaching workshops at the Babcock studio. She continues to learn as much from those who participate in her programs as she hopes they take back from her. 

Patti’s desire to achieve remains, with new sites on becoming a certified evaluator and obtaining Professional Floral Communicator International; PFCI credentials. 

Angela Panza

My journey at Flowerama began as a part time delivery driver to help through the Holidays… that was over ten years ago!
My love for this industry started with a simple garden while raising four wonderful children, teaching them as I learned. I am lucky to also have the knowledge that my parents, Hank and Pauline, exposed me to. Not only growing vegetables to eat, but also cultivating beauty to enjoy with flowers, shrubs, and trees. 
Having come from a large Italian Pittsburgh Family, I’ve mastered the fine art of multitasking – cooking eating and talking all at the same time.
I’m in love with anything old. Antiques, buildings, people. Pittsburgh being my home for most of my life has given me an opportunity to appreciate history. 
Ask anyone! I probably know you or someone you know. In fact in my past life I probably helped build the place… and the pyramids. 
Through the years I have worn many hats. I’ve been a Daughter, sister, wife, mother, a kitchen witch, a green house employee, a bartending, and even a caterer. These experiences have become very valuable to me at my job at Flowerama. 
I’ve found a new family here at the Rama. It’s a great place to be creative, learn new things and most importantly meet new customers and cherish the old ones. 
So if you call the shop and ask for Nancy, you will probably be talking to me!!

Jessica Sheldon

Also known as Jade, has been designing flowers professionally since 2005. Joining the Flowerama team as a young high school student she has grown up learning all the ins and outs of the floral industry.  Jessica continued her education receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from The Smeal College of Business, Penn State University. Working on school breaks and holidays she never could let her love for flowers go. She has now found her calling here at the Rama as a member of the full time staff. From designing everyday flower arrangements to creating some amazing Fruit Bouquets, Jessica does a little bit of everything here.  In her future she plans to continue her journey in the floral industry by studying to becoming accredited in the American Institute of Floral Designers.   

Emily Torbet 

I am a young North Hills native with a passion for flowers, plants, video games, writing and painting. My parents instilled in me a serene appreciation of the natural world, and by the third grade, I was already nicknamed "Nature Girl" for my lessons to the other kids on the playground. I mean, none of them knew why cattails spread so fast, or the reproductive cycle of salamanders; someone had to tell them.
My love for the woods, hills and ponds of Western Pennsylvania also opened an avenue to Native American study, and I spent many afternoons reading of Shawnee towns, Sacajawea's journey with the Corps of Discovery, and the lore of spirit legends. These subjects in turn led me to books about the Paleolithic era of periglacial steppes, super fauna and cave paintings. That spark has burned brightly in my heart ever since my first read-through of The Clan of the Cave Bear. My walls are littered with recreations from Chauvet Cave, the singularly oldest and best preserved example of parietal art, dating to some thirty thousand years. While no flower arrangements survived that time span, there was an Ice Age grave exhumed in Afghanistan that showed traces of flower pollen mixed among mammoth ivory fragments. It's interesting to imagine floriology had such early beginnings.
After a cavalcade of post-high school jobs, (including a pet store, greeting card gallery, photo counter and a motorcycle apparels outlet) I finally found a promising future in the floral industry, and plan on staying in the field with the support of my heart and my husband, John.  Flowerama welcomed my artistry, and the incredible team is helping me grow as a designer, business agent and adult. I have been incredibly lucky to find a calling, to get involved in an ever-evolving world, and to learn to create beauty under the intense pressure of customer vision and satisfaction. I love handling hundreds of orchids and thousands of roses, and my heart races with the excitement of a perfect bloom as it passes through me to you.
